Canon City Colorado Traffic : Yield to Cattle!

Canon City Colorado Traffic

Have you ever lived someplace where everybody complained about the traffic? And if they aren’t complaining about the traffic where they are now they complain about the traffic some place else.

In Canon City Colorado traffic fluctuates with tourist season. In the warmer months traffic swells and in the cooler months especially during the holiday season traffic is almost non-existent.

Colorado is a fence out state. It’s not uncommon to see cattle on the roads. The cattle owners have leases on land that allows them to put their cows on the property. But the cows can cause some traffic issues.

As a driver you must avoid the cattle for a few reasons.

1) You don’t want to hit the cow, it’s going to do a bunch of damage to the cow and to your car.

2) You will be held liable for the cow. And I would expect the owner to tell you that particular cow was a prize winner, high producing or other reason for the cost to build.

The picture above was taken on Copper Gulch Road about 1/2 way up the road toward the fire station. The cows, of course, were standing in the road where it narrows and it’s difficult to see anyway.

The Fair Housing Act is a federal act in the United States intended to protect the buyer or renter of a dwelling from seller or landlord discrimination. Its primary prohibition makes it unlawful to refuse to sell, rent to, or negotiate with any person because of that person’s inclusion in a protected class.
