Cuchara Colorado

CucharaIt’s not everyday you get to see an “old timey” store like this one in Cuchara Colorado. But it’s real! In fact the whole town is real, not a movie set. And did you notice the sign for game meat? Buffalo and Elk are on the menu.

Off of I25, just East of Walsenburg and East of La Veta on HWY #12.  Follow the highway into Trinidad.  On your trip you will also come across North Lake, some times called Blue Lake and Monument Lake.

Not for the faint of heart at an altitude of 8400 feet above sea level. A great day trip from Colorado Springs or Albuquerque. And the snow capped mountains behind the store are the Sangre de Cristo.

The Fair Housing Act is a federal act in the United States intended to protect the buyer or renter of a dwelling from seller or landlord discrimination. Its primary prohibition makes it unlawful to refuse to sell, rent to, or negotiate with any person because of that person’s inclusion in a protected class.
