What do you get in a house for $100,000? Amy Pollark on told us that there are some really bargains and beauties available around the country. Which got me thinking what is available around the Canon City Colorado area for $100,000?

So I did a search, I came up with some properties, some in town, some out of town, some on city lots some on small acreage. Some of these are (currently) bank owned.

    Hello Dena-

    My name is Nigel. I currently live with my wife in Arizona, and we are looking for a 2nd home in the country-side of Colorado. This would not be a shiny vacation home that we visit once every three years and pay taxes on, we really do want to use the land with some frequency. That said, we love the outdoors, and do not need something perfect, brand new, large, or even fancy. We do not have any specifics with regard to exact local, however, we absolutely are looking for 3+ acres (or more), preferably near natural running water/lake/pond, access to forest/mountains/fishing, and of course we do want basic utilities. As far as lodging goes, it would be great if there were a pre-existing structure, and even better yet if we could get a discount on a lovely piece of land that contains a fixer upper, but we are not stuck on any one idea. We are open to many. The ONE and ONLY must is that we have silence, peace, and serenity. We have 6 dogs, 3 cats, and a lovely little rabbit, so it is important that all of ‘us’ can co-exist in the same space/land. Thanks so much!

    I will start sending you listings of available properties right away. Find property in Colorado with water on it will be difficult and will raise the price substantially. You may or maynot know Colorado is an arid state, we have very little water and even less of that water is for sale even if it is running on your property. But I’ll see what I can find!
