Play Dirty Canon City, Texas Creek Colorado an Interview

How long has Play Dirty been in business? We are going into our 3rd season in 2011.  We started out in 2008 just as the tourist season was ending.  We started out with 6 ATV’s.  For 2009 season we were 11 ATV’s.  For the 2010 season we added 3 Sides x Sides to our fleet.  This is what allowed us to offer ATV Touring to all ages.  For the 2011 season we hope to add 5 more ATV’s to make our fleet at 15 ATV’s and 3 Side by Sides.

What is the best part of what you do? Watching customers get dirty while laughing and smiling on the ATV’s.  This is a dusty business and we tell people that if you get dirty we did our job.  Another Fun Thing.  Our guides may have been on one trail a 100 times but the guides is seeing the trail for the first time thru our customers eyes.  We observe what they are pointing out on the trail and make a comment or two about the item.  Our guides give some history background in certain areas of the trail that most customers find interesting.  We stop at overlooks and allow the customer to take in the views of the Sangre de Cristo mtn range.  Usually the guides do allot of picture taking at the overlooks.  We take the time to get to know our customers.

Are there limits to who you can take out on an ATV? Our youngest has been 10 months old.  Our oldest has been a 87 yr grandma.  There is no limit.  This is truly a family fun event.  Most the young children fall asleep during the course of the tour.  All the bouncing over the rocks just lull them to sleep.

If people are never been on an ATV before what should they prepare for? Prepare for how much you can fun.  Our equipments are all automatics, that means no shifting the gears.  All you have to do is throttle (to go) and use the brakes to stop.  It is that easy.  We do ask that the customer wear long pants and fully enclosed shoes.  This is for their comfort and safety.

What makes your business unique compared to the other activities around the Canon City area? We are the only ATV Touring place in  the (Canon City)  area.  We specialize in giving great private tours.  That means we will not put someone else in your group.  Your tour will go out with just your group.  Your tour guide will give your group a tour that will fit everyone in the group.  This activity is one of the few that the entire family can do.  Everyone comes back laughing and telling something funny about their tour.  We offer a video of your tour that can be made into a movie at home.

What is the best way for people to contact you?
