Real Estate Professionals and Passwords

The summer of 2010 the real estate world lost three major influences to the real estate community. With the invention of social networking I became aware of the loss of these very influential people. How fortunate that their families had the ability to notify the world via Facebook because they had the needed passwords.

  • Laurie Manny was a great influence on REALTORS and especially those who blog. Laurie passed suddenly and it came as a great shock to us all.
  • Joe Ferrara from knew he was passing. He touched so many of us. He was a kind man who I was fortunate to meet on the Blog Tour on 2007.
  • Carole Provenzale from wrote beautiful blogs about Feng Shui and life. I had no problem telling her how much she touched me with her writings. Her death was a horrible shock to me, I didn’t know she was ill.

The families of those mentioned above had the ability to reach out to their admirers, because they had passwords to blogs and web sites.

The Fair Housing Act is a federal act in the United States intended to protect the buyer or renter of a dwelling from seller or landlord discrimination. Its primary prohibition makes it unlawful to refuse to sell, rent to, or negotiate with any person because of that person’s inclusion in a protected class.

Dena thanks for the link, it is so true that we don’t always realize how many lives we touch, of people we may never meet in person but still have a connection with. Your story is a great reminder of that.
