The Colorado Lifestyle

Realtors and real estate agents are continually being coached about not selling a property but selling a lifestyle. For me it’s been difficult to get a real grasp on how to sell a lifestyle. It’s easy to say come visit the Royal Gorge Bridge or go rafting down the Arkansas river but those  are things to do they are  not a life style.

Today while contemplating how to sell a lifestyle I stopped at the Arkansas River Walk on Ash Street in Canon City. It’s a comfort to me to stop and look at the river. I pass it or drive over it several times a day but I rarely contemplate it. Today the river is still running high and dirty from the rapid snow melt in the Rocky Mountains.

Early one recent June morning I was awake in time to catch the sunrise. The recent fires have given our skies some unusual interest.

Recently I stopped on Main Street to see Dee Stubbs about something I need to order from her. She introduced me to a gentleman I’ve seen around town but have never actually met before. The Owl next door was doing it’s usual busy lunch hour. Funny the things you notice in a small town.

And just before I got home this afternoon I noticed the cactus around my area are just about to bloom. Cactus usually come in  interesting shapes,  very pretty in pink and yellow. And the local farmers markets are starting to set up. Have you ever been served cactus with your dinner? You should try it.

As I finish these putting this random group of thoughts together I can see out my kitchen door that clouds are forming thick and heavy just to the West. We need the rain so, so badly. One of my favorite jokes : How do you make everyone in Colorado happy at the same time? Make it rain 🙂

Are these things I’ve mentioned make up a lifestyle? I’m not sure, but I’m happy to share them anyway.

The Fair Housing Act is a federal act in the United States intended to protect the buyer or renter of a dwelling from seller or landlord discrimination. Its primary prohibition makes it unlawful to refuse to sell, rent to, or negotiate with any person because of that person’s inclusion in a protected class.
