The Occupancy Check
One of the jobs I have as a real estate agent is to do an “Occupancy Check” on properties. The bank foreclosing on a property will ask me to go out and check to see if anybody is living in a property. I’m not there to throw anybody out or to threaten anybody. I’m there to do a job even if I don’t like it. And if I ask for a name or contact information it’s just my job, it’s not personal.
It is nerve wracking to have to knock on a door and hope nobody answers. Only once have I come across the occupant, she was understanding even nice to me – she was losing her house.
Today I had to go check on a house for the third time. It’s always been empty but the asset company has been told that it’s still occupied by the clean out company. This picture is of a horse that lives nearby, bet he’s wondering why I keep coming around.
