To Live on The Arkansas River or Not to Live on The Arkansas River Here are the Questions

If you are expecting any more Shakespeare I’m afraid I’m going to disappoint you. From here on out it’s just your local Canon City & Fremont County real estate agent trying to help you make sense of a couple of things.

Lots of you have contacted me and said you want to live on The Arkansas River! Great! Contact me and we’ll sign papers tomorrow……..is it that easy?

I’ve written about buying and  living on The Arkansas River before. Things that you can expect like unexpected guests, for example your “charming”  unannounced cousins or wildlife that don’t care how much you paid to be in their space. Living on the river means bugs, snakes, bighorn sheep, skunks, more bugs, deer, elk, uninvited fishermen, tourists, rafters, tubers, floaters and more.

So ask yourself a few questions ….

Are you Ready?

Do you have to transfer or change jobs?

Move the kids out of school?

Do you have to sell your house first?

Have financing actually in place?

Are you Willing?

Are you willing to buy a property that has more of one thing than you want and less of another thing?

Willing to pay the asking price?

Willing to wait another 3 – 4 – 5 years until another property becomes available at 4 times the price you can pay?

Willing to make adjustments in your expectations or the property?

Are you Able?

Able to get financing?

Able to win the lottery to get the money?

Able to adjust your life and lifestyle to make your dream come true?

Able to move quickly before somebody gets your property before you do?

Property on The Arkansas River isn’t infinite there is a limited quantity and rarely does it become available.  Keep your eye on the goal – Live on The Arkansas River!
